We know many of you are not using your PEUGEOTs regularly at the moment, so here are some handy tips to keep you busy and to make sure when you are able to get back on the road and enjoy your PEUGEOT again, you can do so worry free.

Take The Road Again

Tyres – Check condition, pressure, tread depth. The recommended pressure can be found on the tyre’s sidewall. Pressure and condition will reduce naturally if the vehicle is not being used. The law requires car tyres to have a minimum tread depth of 1.6mm in a continuous band around the central three quarters of the tyre. A quick and easy way to see if your tyre tread exceed the minimum legal tread depth is to take the 20p test. Simply place a 20p coin into the main tread grooves of your tyre. If the outer band of the 20p coin is obscured when it is inserted, then your tread is above the legal limit.


Oil – Check level and top up if required – see vehicle handbook for further details


Fuel – Sometimes moisture can get into the fuel tank. To help stop this keep the fuel level topped up.


Screen wash – top up your washer supply with Screen wash – the use of water alone can become stagnant over time.


Battery – run the engine for a period of time each week to ensure a level of charge is maintained in the battery. Most batteries are sealed now so no need to top up electrolyte levels with distilled water. If your car is stored in a garage please ensure you move the car outside before running.  


Air Conditioning - Irregular use of your can produce bacterial growth and unpleasant smells inside the car. Consider booking in for our Complete Anti-Bacterial Refresh


Wiper blades – Check for cracking and splitting – you can order replacements via your local retailer.


Exterior lights – its handy to keep some spare bulbs just incase you need to replace any


Clean the exterior of your car to remove especially “bird deposits” which will damage the vehicle paint work. Using a wax after cleaning can help stop further damage.

Drive a diesel?


Fuel additive for Bio diesel – If bio diesel is left for long periods of time bacterial growth can occur in the fuel system. To stop fuel system blockages you can add fuel additive.


Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) – with limited use or just driving short distances, the system may clog so need to “take the long way home” if the DPF warning light illuminates.


AdBlue – If your AdBlue illuminated, top up the system to prevent the risk of running out and the vehicle not starting

On completion of work the same technician will drive the vehicle to the designated collection point and remove all protection covers.


Collection appointments must be made and adhered to, to ensure social distancing rules are maintained.


  • For collection and delivery service

  • Full details of the service will be communicated to customers 2 days prior to the appointment

  • The driver concerned will be wearing a face mask and gloves

  • Key will be sanitised prior to returning to the customer

  • Social distancing rules 2M distance respected at all times

  • The driver recommends to the customer that the vehicle is left for 3 hours before driving


Payment of invoice to be made by card transaction where possible
